Late Model Racing Western Australia

All on the Line!

This weekend is the final Perth Motorplex race meeting for Late Models in season 2024/25, the final round of the Pro Dirt Series and the final round of the XLI Perth Motorplex Track Championship, and every single driver is fighting to ensure they finish their season on a high with a career best performance.
Saturday night will see a solid twenty-four Late Models hitting the track in their quest for final night glory, but picking a winner is sure to be just as difficult as ever.

Coming into the show with it all before him is Jamie Oldfield, leader in both Championships and essentially just needing to finish races to lock away both.
However, Jamie being the racer he is, certainly won't be settling and if he doesn't come home with his fourth win of the season, will count the night as disappointing.

Of course, there are plenty of drivers who also want to grab the win themselves, including last start winner Joe Chalmers, who is locked in a battle with Warren Oldfield for the other podium positions in both series. Chalmers claimed the Late Model Nationals just a couple of weeks ago and with more feature wins (six so far) than anyone, he will be fighting hard to build on those stats. Warren however certainly won't be happy if he doesn't finish top two overall and will be bringing out all the stops to ensure this doesn't happen, hoping his fourth win of the season, if not his eleventh podium finish.

Luke Halliday has had a great season, sitting fourth in the overall rankings for both the Pro Dirt Series and the Track Championship, and even qualifying on the front row at the last show. Out of the fifteen shows he has contested; he has finished inside the top ten in thirteen of them but unfortunately this hasn't yet converted into a main even win. However, being the final round of the series, we know anything could happen!

Rod Musarra comes in fifth overall in the Pro Dirt Series while Brad Blake is fifth in the Motorplex Track Championship. Both are capable of good result, Musarra having claimed a podium already this season while Blake has a fourth-place finish to his name, and both are keen to return to the top step of the podium and finish on a high.

Adding further to the excitement, names such as Brent Vosbergen, Veronica McCann, Jay Cardy, and Jason Oldfield will also be in the mix, each looking to leave their own mark on the final event of the season. Oldfield has shown impressive pace in recent events, while Cardy and McCann have each had flashes of brilliance throughout the season, and both will be eager to close out the campaign with a standout performance.

Add in the returning Michael Holmes, back in the seat after American Myles Moos recent Australian campaign, Tasmanian Brad Smith who is hoping to finish his West Aussie tour on a high, and all the rest of the Pro Dirt regulars and we are sure to finish the season off with a bang!

The final round of the Pro Dirt Series promises to deliver edge-of-the-seat action, with the country's finest drivers vying for the title. With championship points still up for grabs, every lap will be crucial, making for an unforgettable night of dirt track racing.
