Crouch Charges to Career-Best Midget Result During POWRi National Show at Humboldt

Inside Line Promotions – GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (July 16, 2020) – Brenham Crouch gained valuable experience during a pair of POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League races last weekend.

Crouch rallied from 23rd to a career-best 13th-place finish on Friday at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., before he capped the weekend by charging from 23rd to 14th on Sunday at Valley Speedway.

“It was a decent weekend,” he said. “There’s a lot of things I need to learn and learn from, but we’re getting there. It’s all about learning. I’m pleased with the progress we’ve been making.”

The Toyota Racing backed Keith Kunz Motorsports driver opened the action on Friday at Humboldt Speedway by finishing sixth in a heat race, which lined him up on the inside of the 12th row for the A Main.

“That track was choppy, heavy and rough so you really had to get comfortable where the right rear was,” he said. “It was line sensitive. You had to run the top perfectly or you’d shove the nose. I was able to figure that out about halfway through the race, which helped us toward the end.”

Crouch’s performance from 23rd to 13th on Friday was not only his career-best result in a midget, it earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

He then ventured to Valley Speedway for a doubleheader. Saturday ended with a fifth-place showing in a B Main before the weekend concluded on a positive note on Sunday.

Crouch used a provisional to line up 23rd in the main event and he advanced to a 14th-place outing.

“Things are starting to come together,” he said. “I just have to put all of the pieces together to have more complete nights.”
