Tom Sweatman Wins Super Late Model Main Event

South Sound Speedway on Saturday August 19, 2023, was full of excitement with four classes on hand. Powersports NW Super Late Model, 13 cars for 100-laps, Olympia Auto Sales & RV South Sound Modifieds, 7 cars for 35-laps, Hinkle Homes Hobby Stocks, 7 cars for 30-laps, and Olympia Overhead Doors / Champ Tree Services Tuners, 18 cars for 100-laps.

Super Late Model Main Event started with Logan Cole on the pole, and Jeremy Richardson on the outside. Richardson takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 13, front stretch, Tom Sweatman is slow, bringing out caution number 1. Arlyn Long takes the lead on lap 14. On lap 40, turn 1, Jay Sauls and Dave Cline get together and hit the wall, bringing out caution number 2 and a red flag. JJ Hamilton takes the lead on lap 42. Sweatman takes the lead on lap 45. On lap 58, turn 2, Long and Hamilton get together, bringing out caution number 3. Sweatman goes on to win the Super Late Model 100-lap Main event, followed by Mike Longton, Logan Cole, Hamilton, and Richardson to round out the top five.
JJ Hamilton had a fast time of 13.672.

South Sound Modifieds Main Event started with Jesse Sharp on the pole, and Gage Sharp on the outside. After the green flag, turn 4, Kalob Watson and Tom Ford get stuck together, bringing out caution number 1. Jesse Sharp takes the lead on lap 1. Riley Watson takes the lead on lap 2. On lap 29, turn 4, Dan Kinnaman spins, bringing out caution number 2. Riley Watson goes on to win the South Sound Modifieds 35-lap Main event, followed by Mark Pothoff, Kalob Watson, Ford, and Jesse Sharp to round out the top five.
Mark Pothoff had a fast time of 14.669 (New Track Record).
Kalob Watson won the dash.
Tom Ford won the heat race.

Hobby Stock Main Event started with John Sweeney on the pole, and Brad Reandeau on the outside. Reandeau takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 12, turn 4, Andrew Woods spins, bringing out caution number 1. JuJu Barbera takes the lead on lap 20 and goes on to win the Hobby Stock 30-lap Main event, followed by Reandeau, Matt Foley, Sweeney, and Brandon Chapman to round out the top five.

Before the Tuner Main Event started Jake Utterback and Zandar Peters went to the back of the field, if one of them wins the race they will receive extra money. The race started with Royce Iversen on the pole, and Zach Wisely on the outside. Wisely takes the lead on lap 1. Iversen takes the lead on lap 2. Dean Utterback takes the lead on lap 5. On lap 46, turn 4, Tim Jordan hits the wall, bringing out caution number 1. Jake Utterback takes the lead on lap 57. Dean Utterback re-takes the lead on lap 62. On lap 65, Dean Utterback, Brad Peterson, and Peters get together, bringing out caution number 2. Jake Utterback re-takes the lead on lap 66 and goes on to win the Tuner 100-lap Main event, followed by Eric Kaas, AJ Yocom, Zach Wisely, and Ron Schlund Sr. to round out the top five.

Ron Schlund Sr. won heat #1, Dean Utterback won heat #2, and Joe Champ won heat #3.
