Ambrose and Huntjens Win Round Two!

It was a night of surprises at Ellenbrook Speedway last night for the second round of the Hoath Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Junior Speedway Racing Association - JSRA Series proudly presented by Ultratune Malaga, with relative newcomer Maddison Ambrose picking up the win in the New Stars and recent graduate Jake Huntjens claiming his first win in the Top Stars!

Racing was hard and fast throughout the day with thirteen Top Stars and twelve New Stars on hand, heat wins going the way of Noah Bain (2) in the Top Stars and Ambrose and Josh Birch in the New Stars.

Bain would share the front row of the fifteen lap Top Star feature with Baxter Trouchet, but it was second row starter Kaden Harrison who was able to get by them both to lead early.

Trouchet settled into second ahead of Noah Bain, Jake Huntjens and Riley Bain, the top cars battling it out in a tight group. Trouchet and Noah Bain then made it three wide for the lead with Harrison, some slight contact and Bain finding himself out in front.

The order would remain relatively unchanged through the middle of the race, but with five to go Huntjens made his move to grab third from Harrison and set out after leader Noah Bain and second placed Trouchet.

Huntjens dove underneath Trouchet to grab second with three laps to go, but a series of stoppages that set up multiple green, white, chequer finishes would change the makeup of the race, Huntjens officially claiming the win in what was just his third show in Top Stars. He would defeat Trouchet and Harrison.

In the New Stars Ambrose was quickly into the lead ahead of Birch with Cooper Sayer initially third before Bella Crowe moved around the outside to take the position.

It didn't take Ambrose long to find herself in lapped traffic, but she held strong, Birch all the whole tailing her but unable to get close enough to make a move.

Even a stoppage for a bumper that found itself sitting in the middle of the racing line didn't slow Ambrose down, racing away from Birch and Crowe again on the restart. The laps wound down and all of a sudden the top three found themselves in close quarters, Crowe reading the lapped traffic well to race around the outside of Brich for second and locking onto the rear bumper of Ambrose.

Crowe would make an outside pass for the lead with two to go but a lapped car saw her forced out wide, which let Birch get back by Crowe on the final lap, Ambrose going on to take the win from Birch and Crowe.

The next round for the Hoath Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Junior Speedway Racing Association - JSRA Series will be at the Perth Motorplex on the 31st of October.
