Trey Mills sweeps Alfred Gurley Memorial with Southern Thunder at Talladega Short Track
Trey Mills competed with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series over the weekend as he started off the doubleheader at Penton (Ala.) Raceway for the $10,000-to-win David Brackett & Danny Carswell Memorial on Friday evening.
Mills qualified fifth-quickest among a stacked 16-car field and ran seventh in the 40-lap main event.
On Saturday night, Trey broke out the broom at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) as he led flag-to-flag in both features. Mills qualified on the pole for the first $2,525-to-win feature and redrew the zero for the invert which placed him on the pole for the second $2,525-to-win feature. Trey held off Dillard Hatchett in both features to take home a payday of $5,050.
Trey currently rides second in the STSDS point standings.
