Dover Drives to Best 410 Sprint Car Result at Knoxville Raceway Since 2014 Before Capturing Another Top Five at Huset’s Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (July 14, 2025) – Jack Dover improved his feature result throughout the three-race Border Battle last weekend.
The Tim Estenson Motorsports driver opened the busy tripleheader on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., which showcased the Cressman Sanitation Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars during the Hefty Seed Merle Johnson Memorial. Dover was seventh quickest in his group before he advanced from seventh to fifth place in a heat race. He won the B Main and continued to move forward in the main event, maneuvering from 21st to 16th.
“We didn’t set the car up tight enough for the feature and rode around,” he said. “It wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad.”
Dover ventured to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday. He was 10th quickest in his qualifying group and finished fourth in a heat race. Dover won the B Main to transfer into the back of the feature for the second straight night. This time he drove from 21st to 13th for his best 410ci winged sprint car result at the track since August 2014.
“We were just hoping to qualify decent and make the show,” he said. “There were 40 cars there and when we got to the track we made our goal to make the show and learn. A 13th-place result was above our expectations so we were happy. In hot laps and time trials, that was the best I’ve felt in 20 years of racing there. We passed the second most cars on Friday and Saturday so we can’t put our heads down.”
Dover’s best outing occurred on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway, where he was fourth quickest in his qualifying group and won a heat race to move into the feature redraw.
“We went out for time trials and stuck the bottom,” he said. “We ended up fourth, which put us on the pole of the heat race. We won that and drew the No. 1 for the feature. We got to traffic and I wasn’t aggressive enough and let three by me. If I had to go back I’d tighten the car up a little more off exit. But overall, the car was an eight out of 10. It wasn’t perfect, but just on the tick of free. If we were a little tighter I probably could have driven through the middle and been more aggressive with the lapped cars.”
Dover led the first dozen laps before ending with a fourth-place result, which was his sixth top five of the season. He remains third in the Huset’s Speedway championship standings – 11 points out of second place and 42 points behind the leader.
“Overall, I was very happy with the weekend,” he said. “The results don’t quite show, but every time we went on the track we got better and mostly went forward. It’s hard enough to run three nights in a row and stay strong, and I felt we did that.”
A four-race weekend with the MSTS 410 Sprint Cars is on tap for the team. It begins on Thursday at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., hosts a race on Friday followed by a visit to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., on Saturday. The weekend wraps up on Sunday at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn. It will be Dover’s first time competing at both tracks in Minnesota.
“I’m very excited,” he said. “We get to go to four tracks and I feel we’ve hit on a baseline setup. I feel really comfortable with what the car is doing now. I’m believing in what the car can do and it’s making my job of driving easier and more enjoyable.”
Dover enters the weekend leading the MSTS 410 Sprint Cars championship standings by 15 points.
