Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 24, 2023) – Jordon Mallett will wrap up the 2023 racing season this weekend at a track close to home.

Mallett is slated to compete this Thursday through Saturday at Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark. – approximately two and a half hours away from his shop.

“This will be the closest to home,” he said. “I really anticipate if we get the show in we’ll have more of our family and friends there. It’s a show we always look forward to with friends and family.”

The track hosts the Ralph Henson Memorial featuring the ASCS Mid-South Region on Thursday before the ASCS National Tour’s 36th annual COMP CAMS Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier runs on Friday and Saturday.

It’s been more than a decade since Mallett has raced at the dirt oval. His most recent appearance in May 2013 showcased an eighth-place result.

Mallett has been successful at both the Ralph Henson Memorial and the Short Track Nationals, which both have switched tracks from the now shut down I-30 Speedway to Texarkana 67 Speedway this year.

Mallett was victorious during the Ralph Henson Memorial in 2014. He captured a preliminary night feature at the Short Track Nationals in 2021 – his first career ASCS National Tour triumph – before finishing a career-best third during the event finale.

“Short Track Nationals is one we have a chip on our shoulder for and want to run well at,” he said. “We run with so many people across the country and we race against really good people. They will be there and so we know what we’ll contend with. I’m excited to get there and see how this first year at Texarkana pans out.”

Mallett is coming off a short-lived appearance at the KKM Giveback Classic last weekend. He piloted an Outlaw Non-Wing micro sprint for the Porter Family during the event, which ended early during preliminary action last Friday.

“There were 60 cars there and we qualified 31st so we felt we were close and had a lot to improve on,” he said. “I ran the heat race. The top hadn’t come in yet and so I moved to the bottom. I felt they were driving away from us and we were missing something. We were coming off turn three on the last lap and a mechanical problem occurred and it caught on fire. I was able to get out super quick. I’m thankful to the staff for getting the fire out quickly and preventing any more damage. It was a bummer, but that happens in racing. They put me in a good piece and that motor was fresh off the dyno so that was really disappointing, but we had a fun weekend overall with the Porter Family.”
