Driver Information

Sean McClelland is a second-generation driver from Tulsa Oklahoma. As a young boy, Sean always wanted to emulate his father Mike who raced super-modified and dirt champ cars for several years. Growing up around the racetrack, Sean was a typical kid playing with toy cars in crafted dirt ovals and getting into anything he could. Sean would be mesmerized at the racecars that he came to watch on a weekly basis. As he slowly grew older, the fascination of the racecars only deepened in his spirit and soul.

Long before he could drive a common streetcar, Sean was already talking, breathing and preaching open wheel racing to anyone within an earshot 24/7. Sean has a brother (Brian) who is also an accomplished sprint car racer thus the racing bloodlines in the family run deep and true. The McClelland’s are your typical American auto racing family as countless hours upon hours of family time have been spent together either working on racecars or racing them.

Sean just recently created a family of his own when he married Heather Patterson. Not only does Sean have a new partner in life, he is also accompanied in the family circle with his stepchildren Logan, Parker, Brinkley, Barrett and Paxton. One could say that the full pit crew has now been assembled.

Sean is fueled by the competition of the sport. To achieve success where success is often minimized by the quality of the competitors, it becomes the ultimate satisfaction for Sean. While competitive juices flow in his veins like hot lava, Sean appreciates the camaraderie between the competitors. Many friends and life-long relationships have been built over the years in the racing world and to this day, Sean competes toe to toe with some of his closest friends.

Sean never asked for much out of racing. If he made good money on a given night, for the most part, it just meant there were traveling expenses to be paid or more car parts to add to the inventory. A couple of specific things that are very important to Sean is something money and trophies can’t buy and that is respect from his peers and the support from his fans. Other than the love from his family, nothing else matters to Sean.
