McCarter lands podium finish with Bandits at Smoky Mountain
On Saturday afternoon, Mack McCarter returned to the driver's seat of his No. 71 MasterSbilt Late Model with the Steel Block Bandits at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the Rockin' With The Stars event.
In a stout field of 47 Late Models, McCarter clicked off the fourth-quickest lap in his qualifying group before landing a runner-up finish in his heat. Rolling off seventh in the $5,000-to-win main event, Mack gained four positions en route to a third-place run in the 50-lap feature. He trailed Skip Arp and Jordan Rodabaugh while Ronnie Johnson and Jason Manley completed the Top-5.
