Driver Information

Started racing go karts in 1979 at Grayson County Speedway in Bells, Texas and Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas. The first time I drove a race car was in 1984, I drove my dad economy late model. It was everything that I expected and more! Results were a little less than what I wanted! Everyone was happy! I kept the car straight and pointed in the direction and didn't get lapped! It Took a couple of years before we won our first feature. In 1985, we ventured other places. We raced at Jack Rabbit Speedway, Grayson County Speedway, Superbowl Speedway and Devils Bowl Speedway. The final race of the year was at Devils Bowl and I remember it like it was yesterday. I came off of turn four and they moved the wall out about 6' and I was running the top line and hit the wall with the right front that it shoved the upper a arm into the motor. Good thing we were building a new car during the winter! I raced during my high school years while still playing football and baseball in school. I played baseball on various American Legion and All Star teams travelling during the summer months playing in tournaments. I received baseball scholarship offers from many of the Junior Colleges and some D1 schools. Oklahoma State was my choice. Had a good run in ball. Played with some guys who went on to the Bigs. Backed up Robin Ventura and had a good time! Racing has always been in my blood. Started when I was 5 and my uncle Richard took me to Grayson County Speedway in their first year in 1975. My dad started in 1976 and it grew. Since then, we have raced in many states at many big events. Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Missouri, Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, New Mexico and Arizona. Having won features in many of those states. I have been fortunate enough to win races in Late Models, Modifieds and Stock Cars and I have drove for exceptional car owners

Career Highlights

Won first heat race in 1984, first feature in 1987. Won well over 100 Features in Late Models, Modifieds and Stock Cars. The best feature that I have won is the Race For Time at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. The race benefits the Jimmy Everest Foundation that benefits children with cancer.

Most Memorable Moment

Winning the Jimmy Everest Race For Time at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. It benefits children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Winning with all of the kids there meant a lot to me and to see the smile on their face and the pure enjoyment that the had made it the most special race I have ever won.

Hobbies

Spending as much time as I can with my grandkids! My daughters and my wife are my saving grace. There is nothing better than spending time with all of my family and doing things that involves all of them.
