#100 Weekend recap

Friday marked the return of the Lucas Oil POWRI Minn-Kota Lighting Sprints back to the Red River Valley Speedway along with the NLSA Lightning Sprints. This was the 2nd appearance of the month for the lighting sprints at the speedway in 2020 and both times have provided some great racing action. Friday started off with the #100 displaying the car at O'Kelly's and giving some race fans a chance stop by and register to win some tickets to the races. Racing at the speedway is always fun as we typically have many friends, family members and sponsors that are able to co,me out and watch. It was a less eventful race than two weeks ago when we ended the feature in a ball of fire which was fine. The heat race was nothing special as we finished in third place with a car that just was not able to keep the power down. The feature was not bad as we ran 3rd place until a late bobble entering turn 1 allowed to cars go get past and relegated the #100 to a respectful 5th place finish. Saturday we headed again to Devils Lake Speedway on what turned out to be a very warm Saturday afternoon. The heat race we just didn't have the right setup in the car and basically rode out the heat race finishing in 4th place and worked on getting the car prepared for the feature. After some changes the car seemed to take off the 1st two laps as we were able to follow Bryce Haugeberg around the first two laps before fading back to eventually a 7th place finish. For whatever reason we don't seem to be getting a handle on the Devils Playground this year so the driver needs to get better at being smoother and finding a better way around the speedway.
This week we are off to Greenbush to kick off their season opener before taking a weekend off!
Thanks to all our great sponsors that support the #100 Lighting Sprint team
