Estenson Embracing New Role During Learning Season

Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (March 17, 2025) – Tim Estenson is eager to soak up a different side of sprint car racing this season.

Jack Dover, who was the crew chief for the last two years at Tim Estenson Motorsports, has shifted to primary racing duties with Estenson serving as a crew member. The swap is a move to allow Estenson to further learn from Dover and in a different role.

“I’m looking at it with a different perspective this year as a big learning year,” Estenson said. “I want to learn the other side of it as much as I can. I can apply that in the long run. The way I look at it is it’s only going to help me when I get back in the car. It’s only going to make me a better driver.

“I know the basics. Jack is really good at watching the car and knowing what it needs. That’s something I’ll try to learn.”

Estenson and Dover combined to win four races in 2023 and three last season. Estenson also became the first-ever Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars champion last year.

“I am still young and last year was an up-and-down year,” he said. “I know I’m not the only one to do this. Jack thinks it will be super beneficial to be able to learn the other side. I think it’ll boost my driving once I get back in the car; to understand what the car is doing and to be able to give better feedback.

“Last year when Jack drove our stuff at the Knoxville Nationals, that was probably some of the most fun I had all year. I really enjoyed that.
