Driver Information

On Father's Day 2007 Kyle Brinkmann , of Elkhorn Wisconsin, started his racing career in the 100cc JR Sprint division at badger kart club in Dousman Wisconsin. A strong top five finish confirmed that Kyle would indeed be focused on racing moving forward.

Kyle would continue karting for two seasons capturing a feature win and several qualifying race wins.

In 2009 Kyle Brinkmann Racing (KBR) was established with a move to 1/2 scale mini cup stock cars within the popular Central States Racing (CSR) Series. Kyle would capture 3 wins and several poles on his way to a 3rd place finish in the point standings and Rookie of the Year honors.

In 2010 Kyle would capture five more wins, several poles/heat race wins and finish runner up in National points while capturing the Wisconsin State Championship.

2011 KBR made the decision to move up to full sized race cars within the USST Truck Series and then on to the American Speed Association (ASA) Truck Series. The ability to race heavy high horsepower machines at tracks like The Milwaukee Mile, LaCrosse Speedway and Elko Speedway provided Kyle the experience needed to further his career in auto racing.

In 2013 after the end of the ASA Truck Series Kyle and his "52 Crew" moved into the ever competitive super late model ranks. Running in TUNDRA, Madison Triple Crown and Midwest Tour events. The highlight was competing in the 1st Annual Howie Lettow Memorial Classic at the Milwaukee Mile along side such stars as Rusty Wallace and Chase Elliott.

The experience in late models led to a ARCA test with Andy Belmont Racing at Caraway Speedway in North Carolina. The test exceeded expectations and a plan to move into the ARCA Series was formulated.

Unforeseen circumstances led to the closure of Andy Belmont Racing. With the situation happening while graduating High School Kyle was faced with a cross roads many racers unfortunately face. The decision to continue racing -or- head off to college.

Kyle made the decision to attend the University of Wisconsin - Platteville where he recently graduated with a degree in Engineering.
During his time in school he met friends who enjoyed dirt track racing. Being an "asphalt racer" Kyle reluctantly went with them. By his sophomore year he looked forward to going. By his Junior year he told his father; "IF we ever go back racing - I want to run dirt!" On that day a plan was formed.

In 2017 KBR's doors re-opened in a little shop in Platteville after the purchase of a highly competitive 600cc Winged Micro from the powerhouse Mooney DeWitt team in Indiana. With no practice, not even a single lap ever turned on dirt and not having driven any race car in five years Kyle finished 9th in a 18 car field at Angell Park Speedway. Earlier that day in hot laps a radiator hose burst spraying scalding hot fluid on Kyle's ankle. While paramedics recommended Kyle go to the emergency room he stayed and raced with the immense pain within his racing shoe. Two days after the race Kyle had his ankle checked out by a doctor. After cutting away a large section of skin and deep tissue Kyle was out of action for the rest of the season.

Over the winter the team decided to move into the BMARA Midget Series. The ability to purchase the 2017 BMARA winning engine and Stealth race car led to the formulation of the #5 2.4L Honda Powered team that will compete in 2018.
