McCowan grabs three Top-10 Hell Tour finishes; podium outing at Clarksville Speedway
Set for the third week on tour with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Dillon McCowan was one of 45 Super Late Model drivers at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on Tuesday afternoon for the week three opener.
Making up two spots in his heat race to finish runner-up, McCowan started seventh in the $5,000-to-win opener and finished 13th.
Losing Wednesday's show to Mother Nature, McCowan survived a tough 100-lap feature on Thursday Macon (Ill.) Speedway and earned a Top-10 in 10th.
Dillon recorded another 13th-place outing at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday before sneaking a Top-10 finish at Highland (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday by finishing 10th once again.
Saving his best effort for Sunday evening, McCowan picked up a heat race win and drove to a podium finish in the $5,000-to-win closer at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway. He trailed Brandon Sheppard and Jason Feger while Rodney Melvin and Jadon Frame completed the Top-5.
McCowan finished seventh in the week three point standings.
