Please Join Us for the Funeral of National Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Carlton Ray Lamm

North Carolina (April 16, 2018) – Carlton Ray Lamm, 77, of Benson, died April 16, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born to the late Hobert and Inez Lamm, April 3, 1941, in Bailey, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Lamm.

Carlton was a 1960 graduate of Bailey High School. He was the owner of Dunn Benson Ford, Dunn Benson Motorsports and Carlton Cattle Company. He was a former member of the National Guard Armory and an honorary Kentucky Colonel. His passion for racing landed him in the National Late Model Hall of Fame. He influenced the lives of many racers and fans across the U.S.

Carlton was known for his generous heart and his incredible love of others. He shared that love with his family first and all those around him. His smile was contagious and will always be cherished by those who knew him.Carlton was known for his generous heart and his incredible love of others. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Butler Chapel, Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina with Rev. Al Hocutt and Rev. Don Davis. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Lamm is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rebecca J. Lamm, of Benson; son, Kemp Lamm and wife, Kathy of Dunn; sister, Judith L. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home, Dunn, North Carolina.
