LATE MODELS CASH IN AT HUTCH NATIONALS

$1500 and Hutch Nationals Championship Await NCRA Crate Late Model Division!

Park City, Kansas – July 30, 2018 - Chris Kratzer of Wichita, Kansas will be looking for a three-peat as the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products Crate Late Model division heads to the famed half-mile oval at the Kansas State Fairgrounds as the “Mid-Summer Classic” continues this coming Friday and Saturday night, August 3-4, for the 62nd annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Hutchinson Grand Nationals presented by Allen Samuels Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram of Hutchinson.

Kratzer, the three-time series crate late model champion, has won this prestigious event the past two seasons. While he looks to claim his third-straight “Mid-Summer Classic,” he also looks to improve his position in the current series point standings. Kratzer currently sits fourth in the standings, forty-five points behind current touring point leader Dusty Leonard of Marysville.

Former series co-champion Daniel Smith of Beloit sits second in the standings (-25) while focusing on winning his first Hutch Nationals championship. Veteran Delbert Smith sits third in the standings (-40) and is a three-time Hutch Nationals champion, claiming victories in 1985 and 1993 in the late model division and once (1988) in the modified division.

Cory Dumpert of York, Nebraska has a series-leading three feature victories on the season and sits fifth in the standings, just 95-points out of the point lead. Dumpert will be looking for his first-career Hutch Nationals championship and the first driver from the “Cornhusker” state to take home those honors since Marquette/s Kyle Berck accomplished that feat back in 2014.

Touring regulars also expected to compete and vie for their first-ever Hutch Nationals championship and $1500 paycheck include: Jimmy Segraves, Brandon Givens, Adam Popp, Adam Schrag and Tony Foster.

Friday night will see double-heat races take place with finishing and passing points making up the championship feature line-ups on Saturday night.

An open practice session will be held this Thursday night from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. All pit passes will be $10 while grandstand admission for open practice is free.

Gates both night’s will open at 5:00 PM with race time set for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission each night $22 for adults ages 11 and up; $7 for children ages 6-12. You can obtain $2 off coupons at all area O’Reilly Auto Parts stores. All pit passes are $30 each night.

At the conclusion of Friday night’s event, all fans and drivers will be treated to a free concert featuring the Red Dirt Country band, Jason Callahan.
