KEMP - MARTIN - MILLER - NIGHTINGALE - LEONARD CAPTURE WINS DURING ROUND TWO AT SALINA SPEEDWAY

It was the "Elder Statesman" of the Kemp Racing family that laid claim to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Winners Circle at Salina Speedway Friday night during round two of the NCRA Racing Series 50th Anniversary.
Kevin Kemp, Maize, Ks, picked up the win in the NCRA AAAModified championship feature, holding off Kurtis Pihl, Dakota Dale, Warren Huffman and Chris Vogan who rounded out the top five.
In the NCRA Modified division, Jake Nightingale, of Hutchinson, Ks, held off charges by both Cody Schniepp and Dan Powers to pick up his first NCRA win of the season. Kirby Robe and Cory Lagroon rounded out the top five.
Saturday night was the second time out for the NCRA 305 Sprints of Kansas which brought 18 teams to the Salina Speedway. Race'n "Jason Johnson, of Lincoln, Neb, picked up the bank with a late pass over leader Jeremy Huish, of Jetmore, Ks. Zach Blurton, Luke Cranston and J.D. Johnson would finish behind Johnson making up the top five. Johnson also received a Hoosier Sprint Car front tire, a pair of Pull Over Jackets from Hoosier Racing Tires. The Hard Charger Award banked $100.00 to John Freeman from Mel Hambelton Ford Racing for passing 5 cars in the feature event.
The "Gladiators" of the Late Model division made their first appearance of the season on Friday night with NCRA Productions and former NCRA Champion Dusty Leonard, of Marysville, Ks, picked up the win over the Smith family Delbert and Dan who finished runner-up and third. Adam Popp and Jeremy Bishop rounded out the top five.
Saturday nights winner in the stock car division was Scott Miller of Hutchinson, Ks. Miller had to battle Brandon Conkwright, Kenny Ziegler and Larry Sutton most of the race to get the win. Trace Ayers rounded out the top five.
Awards were given out by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing and Hoosier Racing Tires in each division.
