(Hartford, OH)...While race fans are highly anticipating the return of the Super DIRTcar Series to Sharon Speedway on Monday, August 11 for the “Steel Valley 75”, a special guest in none other than 2023 NASCAR Cup Champion, Ryan Blaney, will be present. Blaney, who became a co-owner of Sharon Speedway earlier this year, will participate in a “Racing into Kindness” themed Question & Answer Session part of the “Willy’s World” Kids Club activities presented by Millcraft Barns. Blaney, who last competed at Sharon during the SRX race in 2022, will also offer insight during the broadcast of the racing program.
The Q&A Session will take place behind the main grandstands in the Fan Zone from approximately 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. and will be moderated by Sharon Speedway social media content creators, Garrett and Jessica Mohrbacher. While the Q&A Session is open to all; children ages 5-17 will be able to submit questions through the following link: https://forms.gle/eutZarwLjf5q2gdp8 If chosen, the individuals will be able to personally ask Blaney their questions. A limited number of questions will be chosen.
Seating will be open from 5 to 5:45 p.m. There will be three sections of seating; section one is for children ages 5-17 (closest to kids club patio); section two is a family section (behind the kids only section); and section three is an adult section (back and sides).
“Sharon has been a big part of my life for a long time,” Blaney said. “When that ownership role became an opportunity, I was really happy to be a part of it. My grandfather’s ties to Big Blocks and stuff like that was how he built his racing lore, so I’m really excited they’re coming back. I’m really excited to be there and be able to watch in person. It should be a good time. I always love watching Big Block racing.”
The racing program will feature the Super DIRTcar Series for the Big-Block Modifieds in a $10,000 to-win 75-lap event along with the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply “410” Sprint Cars for $4,000 to-win. The event is presented by Capital Renegade Custom Coaches and Trailers along with support from Al Heinke, Thermo Supply, Russ King Racing, King Sanitary, and King Bros.
General admission gates will open at 5 p.m. Warm-ups will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. followed by Super DIRTcar qualifying and racing at 7:30. Reserved seating is $35 with general admission $30. Students 13-17 are $10 and kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $40.
