Fireworks Close North Parking Lot at Silver Dollar Fairgrounds

CHICO, CA (9-24-13) - This weekend's 21st Annual Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway will include fireworks on and off the race track. The Silver Dollar Fairgrounds will host two big events this weekend. At the big track we are hosting 360 winged sprint cars, dirt modifieds and wingless sprints over a two night span on September 27th and 28th. Coinciding with our races, the locally owned A Main Hobbies scheduled their National Remote Control event this week also. The Silver Dollar RC track is located in the North Parking lot at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds near Costco. Due to the heavy volume of traffic and activities the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds it was decided that the North parking lot is off limits to the teams and fans attending this weekend's Fall Nationals at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Fans and teams will be allowed to only use the main entrance off of Fair St. Entry to the Silver Dollar Speedway pit area for race haulers will only be allowed through the maintenance gate located by the Silver Dollar Pavilion. The Speedway staff will help direct traffic out in the main parking lots. Camping spots for the weekend are available but will also be confined to inside the gated fairgrounds with no camping allowed in the North parking lot.

Another reason for closing the North Parking lot during both nights of racing is the set up and launching of Fireworks on Saturday night. The Silver Dollar RC is hosting a Fireworks show around 8:20 pm on Saturday night. This is going to allow our fans the chance to see a Fireworks show. The Fireworks show will not hamper on track racing for us on Saturday night. Depending on the timing, there could be races on our track while the fireworks are shooting into the skies.
