The John and Robbie Padjen Classic Presented by Berco Redwood
CHICO, Calif.July 28, 2025 – The 71st Mike Curb Gold Cup Race of Champions presented by NOS Energy Drink is set for Aug 20-23 at the famed Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA. SLC Promotions is geared up to host four exciting nights of dirt track racing. It is with great honor that SLC Promotions has renamed the Wednesday night winged 360 sprint car race at Silver Dollar Speedway to the John and Robbie Padjen Classic In Tribute to Gold Cup presented by Berco Redwood. The Padjens brought the Gold Cup to Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway in 1980. The event remains a top sprint car race, with the Saturday night winner set to earn $100,000.
Starting with the John and Robbie Padjen Classic and moving forward with all winged 360 sprint car races, SLC Promotions and the Silver Dollar Speedway will be fully alligned with the SCCT rule book. “We felt moving forward with the popularity of 360 sprint car racing in California that we 100 percent align ourselves with the SCCT rule book for all upcoming races,” said SLC Promotions Colby Copeland.

This year’s theme for Gold Cup is Beach Party. All campers are encouraged to participate and decorate with the Beach theme in mind. The Gold Cup BBQ Crew is leading the charge when it comes to the Beach theme. In fact, this year, SLC Promotions will award “Camp of the Year” in honor of the best Beach Party themed camp site. The winner will receive FREE camping for the 2026 Gold Cup. However, the campers must be creative and out of respect to the event and the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, we are not allowing SAND or open flame TIKI TORCHES at the campsites. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing each campsite.
As of this release, both four-day and single day grandstand tickets are available. Pit passes will be available each race day. All purchased tickets and or pit wristbands get you FREE access to the Wednesday throught Saturday Pavillion activities. A list of activities in the pavillion will soon be released.
