Lebanon Midway ready to crown Spring/Summer Series Champions

By Ronnie Williams (Lebanon, MO) -- The Lebanon Midway Speedway is set to crown the 2018 Spring/Summer Series Champions Friday Night with action in The USRA Out Pace B Modifieds,Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Hornets, Pure Stocks and Bombers with the 17th straight race for the 1st part of the race season. After losing the 1st 2 races of the season due to weather in early April, the 1/3 mile dirt track located 6 miles East of Lebanon has had a very successful and strong season so far.as over 220 different drivers in different classes have competed so far this season.

Veteran Sam Petty of Niangua will clinch the USRA B modified track title just by checking in Friday Night. National point leader Kris Jackson has captured 11 feature wins so far this season while Petty has 3 wins to his credit with most of them coming from beyond the 10th starting spot including 2 feature wins which earned over 750 to win on each of those nights. Thee May Memorial weekend Tony Roper Memorial and The June Special event. For Petty, he captured features during the Special Holiday Tuesday Night July Celebration and most recently last Friday night he held back Jackson in a hard earned victory. Petty has been battling Jackson almost every Friday night this season and will tell you he was probably gotten faster competing with the National point leader. Other B Modified feature winners include defending champion Tyler Brown who has ran only a partial schedule this season, and Robbie Ewing chalked up a win in his 1st start at Midway this season. While several champions are wrapped-up by just checking-in, many tight positions can be changed. Jackson has a narrow 10 point margin over Lebanon's Tyler Knudtson for the runner-up spot.
Other current leaders are Mark Davis ( Street Stocks), Colt Cheevers ( Midwest Modifieds), Shannon Geller ( Hornets), Ron Duncan ( Pure Stocks). William Gardner goes in as the Bomber point leader with a narrow 12 point margin over Mark Simon and an eighteen point margin over Sam McDaniel.

For added excitement, The Speedway will hold a powderpuff and mechanics race after the regular program.

Midway will then take off until Sept. 8th with the 2nd annual Bud Perry Memorial featuring The Cash Money Super Late Model Series along with USRA B Modifieds competing for National points, Hornets, Midwest Modifieds, Pure Stocks and The Gateway Vintage Racing Group, and will continue racing action on Saturday Nights through the 1st week of November with the Fall Survivor Series. USRA B Modified National points will be awarded every night that Midway competes.

Gates open at 5PM with Hot laps at 7 and Racing at 8PM. All classes will open draw for heat spots and a row redraw inversion determines the line-up with last week's winners starting back in row 6 as per line-up procedures.
