Mills displays strong fourth-place outing in Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series season opener

Kicking off his third-year on tour, Trey Mills and his Longhorn Chassis team checked in with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Saturday for the $20,000-to-win season opener.

With a stacked 44-car field on hand, Mills laid down the fourth-quickest lap in his qualifying group before outdueling Josh Putnam for a heat race victory. Trey redrew the outside pole in the redraw and took the lead when the green flag dropped. Leading the first 30 circuits of the 50-lap feature, Mills got passed by Ricky Weiss but still hung on for a fourth-place finish just off the podium.
