Covington Ready For The Weekend And Return To ASCS 360 After Gaining Some Seat Time In The 410 This Past Week

Glenpool, Ok. (August 20, 2015) Matt Covington is ready to return to the Lucas Oil ACSC National Tour this Sunday at State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo. for a chance to grab the $12,000 to win Casey’s General Store High Roller Classic, presented by Impact4800.com.

Covington will shift his focus back the 360’s after spending the last few weeks in a 410 at the Knoxville Nationals and McCool Junction.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in the 360 and applying some of the stuff we have learned the last few races in the 410. I’ve never ran Sedalia, but very optimistic about having a good run there,” said Covington when asked about this coming Sunday. “From what I understand, Sedalia’s a big, flat, old school fairgrounds half-mile with wide corners. I hear that it can get really slick so I am going to do my best to be nice and smooth and carry as much momentum as possible.”

The trip to Sedalia will be the next stop on the 2015 schedule for Matt and the team after racing the Knoxville Nationals and McCool Junction with the World of Outlaws this past week. Covington made the C feature at the Nationals on Saturday and then finished 16th in the A-Main with the Outlaws Tuesday night in McCool.

“We have been a little off and slower than I like all year.” stated Covington. “We have had some good runs but then struggled at other times. Ryan Beachler came on board last month and brought some different setups than what I was used. Honestly though the setups and car have been fast and I truly can’t complain. He has got us going in the right direction and I just think there are a few things I need to improve driving wise to adjust and get more comfortable. I have been doing my best and working on those over the last few races. I think we are truly making progress and personally feel good about the months ahead as the season winds down because I am confident we will be racing upfront and competing for wins.”

Matt and his Covington Motorsports team would like to thank all partners who have helped make the 2015 season possible and look forward to the continued relationship throughout the rest of the year: T&L Foundry, Triple X Chassis, A-Rock Materials, Winters, Brodix, C.G. Martin Company, Factor 1 Racing, All-Star Performance, Outlaw Wings, Pro Shocks, DMI Components, Keizer Wheels, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, GME Steering, Wesmar Racing Engines, Bob Hurley RV, Eaton Industrial, Maxwell Oil, and Schoenfeld Headers.
