ZACK WILSON CAPTURES CAREER 1ST WIN IN HOVIS RUSH SPRINT CARS RETURN TO STATELINE; 1ST RUSH LATE MODEL WINS OF 2025 FOR TOMMY SCHIRNHOFER JR, MIKE LAUGHARD & ZACK CARLEY

(Pulaski, PA)...The Fourth of July holiday was filled with lots of Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants action. Veteran Kyle Thomas scored his first ever victory in Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey RUSH Late Model Touring Series action while Tour Series regular Jeremy Wonderling tallied the win as the Tour made its first ever appearance at the Ohio Valley Speedway. Tommy Schirnhofer, Jr., Mike Laughard, and Zack Carley picked up their first victories of the season in RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series action. Chas Wolbert added to his win total in RUSH Sportsman Modified action. Zack Wilson made his first ever visit to victory lane in RUSH Sprint Car action, while Joe Chamberlain won his first of the season in RUSH Pro Mod action. Raiddan Wilson and Blaze Harrison split the RUSH Stock Car events.
Garret Paugh and Kyle Thomas led the Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series RUSH Late Model main event to green at Tyler County Speedway on Thursday, July 3rd. Thomas used the outside to power into the lead, weathered several cautions and used the top side of the speedway to score the victory, which was his career first in RUSH Touring Series action worth $4,000. New York drivers Jeremy Wonderling finished in and Jason Knowles finished second and third. A.J. Spagnuolo and Ben Easler completed the top five, which were their career best finishes in RUSH Late Model Tour action.
The Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series teams travelled to Ohio Valley Speedway for Race #6 of the 2025 tour, which was also the Series’ first ever visit to the speedway. Wonderling and Thomas led the field to the green with Wonderling getting the advantage early. A determined Thomas was able to close the gap, and the duo raced side-by-side at several times during the 30-lap event. Wonderling however was able to get the $4,000 win with Thomas coming home in second. Austin Allen finished third with Ben Easler, improving on his finish the previous evening, to get fourth. Kyle Hardy completed the top five after starting last in a back-up car.
Muskingum County Speedway hosted a $2,000 to win RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series special event on Saturday, July 5, which wrapped up three nights for the Dave Poske's Performance Parts Mid-Ohio Valley Series. Wonderling was able score win #2 of the weekend in his first ever visit to the Dresden, Ohio oval, which was part of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event live on FloRacing. Russ King Racing Futures Cup racer Lincoln Smith was second as Tour racers Easler, Bud Watson, and Mike Wonderling completed the top five.
RUSH Late Model competitors at Dog Hollow Speedway had a busy weekend with three events in two days. Davin Kaiser scored his fifth victory of the season at the Northern Cambria, PA oval as he defeated Dan Angelicchio, Ray Ciccarelli, Noah Brunell and Mike Laughard. Fifteen cars were on hand, which was the most since Dog Hollow reopened last season.
Dog Hollow was back in action on July 4 with Laughard scoring the win in the rained-out event from June 27, which was his first win of 2025. Tom Snyder, Tyler Ellenberger, Tanner Hauger and Noah Brunell completed the top five. Laughard also picked up the winner in the regularly scheduled event that evening. Tom Snyder, Jr. and Colby Beighey followed in second and third. Tyler Ellenberger and Noah Brunell rounded out the top five.
RUSH Late Model competitors saw two days of racing action at Stateline Speedway. Friday evening David Parker led the entire distance of the 20-lap main event to tally his second win of the season by 1.142 seconds over Randy Hall. Jake Wilber, Hunter Proctor, and William Pinckney followed in third through fifth.
Saturday night’s RUSH Late Model event saw Zack Carley, Breyton Santee and Demetrios Drellos battle in the early stages of the event. Drellos used the top side of the speedway, while Santee used the bottom. Carley held off both through the first half; however, a restart with seven laps to go allowed Drellos to use the top groove to close in. Another yellow with two laps remaining bunched up the field, but Carley was able to score a hard-earned victory over Drellos and Santee. It was Carley's first of the season and came over a strong 26-car field. David Parker claimed fourth with Jason Genco getting the fifth spot.
Tommy Schirnhofer, Jr., and Jake Gunn led the RUSH Late Model field to green at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Jake Gunn took the lead and battled brother Zach Gunn for the top spot, while Schirnhofer patiently waited in third. Mechanical trouble struck Jake Gunn on lap 12 and Schirnhofer inherited the lead. Schirnhofer would weather a late race caution and red flag to score the win, which was his first in almost two years. Dan Angelicchio was second in his first PPMS start of the season. Clinton Hersh, Christian Schneider, and Mike Reft finished second through fifth, respectively.
Breyton Santee scored win #3 of the season Sunday evening at Eriez Speedway. Santee led the entire distance of the 20-lap main event to score a big 4.016 second win over Scott Gurdak. Bud Watson, David Parker, and Jason Genco completed the top five.
Hovis RUSH Sprint Car teams celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with three nights of racing action. The teams began the weekend at Tri-City Raceway Park on Friday. Blaze Myers scored a 3.931 victory over Zach Wilson in the 20-lap main event. Luke Mulichak, John Mollick, and Lucas Roessner finished third through fifth, respectively.
RUSH Sprint car teams then travelled to Stateline Speedway on Saturday for a special $800 to-win event. It was the first RUSH Sprint Car race at Stateline since the inaugural 2018 season. Luke Mulichak and Brian Cressley led the field to the green but it was third place starter Zach Wilson who grabbed the lead. Wilson went on to score his first career victory by more than four seconds over veteran Arnie Kent. Kent, who started ninth. Luke Mulichak, Zach Morrow, and Ricky Tucker III rounded out the top five.
Blaze Myers continued to look strong at Tri-City Raceway Park in 2025 as he quickly grabbed the top spot in Sunday evening action at the speedway. Zach Morrow stayed glued to the rear of Myers’ car; however, he was unable to wrestle the top spot away from Myers, who went on to score his fourth straight win of the season at Tri-City. Morrow settled for second and took over the points lead in the $5,000 to-win Billy's Garage Weekly Series Championship. Charlie Utsinger claimed a season best third. Fourteen-year-old Samantha Priest had a career best finish in fourth with Russ King Racing Futures Cup points leader Wyatt Long getting fifth.
Hovis RUSH Sportsman Modified competitors began their weekend at Raceway 7 on Friday. Pole-sitter Chas Wolbert led the entire distance of the 20-lap event to score his second consecutive victory at the speedway. Kole Holden, who started in the second spot, fell back to fourth on lap 10 but made a late race charge to come home in the runner-up position. Doug Rutana, Jake Rutana and Rob Kristyak completed the top five.
On Sunday evening the RUSH Sportsman Modified racers travelled to Tri-City Raceway Park for their second appearance of the season. Chas Wolbert led the entire distance of the 15-lap main event to complete a perfect weekend. Wolbert has six victories in RUSH action this season and the win at Tri-City was also his 60th of his career in the division. Kole Holden once again came home in the second position with Logen Lockhart claiming third. Jake Rutana was fourth. Karston King, who leads the Russ King Racing Futures Cup points, rounded out the top five.
Hovis RUSH Pro Mod teams were in action at Stateline Speedway on Friday. Tim Peterson withstood the pressure of Nick Arnold and Josh Wilcox to lead the entire distance of the 15-lap event and score his second win of the season. Arnold came home in second with Tyler Oakes in third. Ian Degolier and Wilcox completed the top five.
McKean County Raceway was also in action on Friday night. Joe Chamberlain substituted for Ed Carley in the RUSH Pro Mods. Chamberlain got by Dean Ingalls and Steve Dixon on the first lap and went on to pick up his first win of 2025. Al Brewer finished second with Derek Austin getting third. Dixon and Ingalls completed the top five.
The Hovis RUSH Stock Cars had a doubleheader weekend. On Friday night at Tri-City Raceway Park, Raiddan Wilson scored his first career victory at the Franklin, Pa. oval as it was his second overall of 2025. Points leader William Baker, Jr., Camron Kramer, Darr Diegelman, and Cole Laskey completed the top five. Action at Stateline Speedway on Saturday saw Blaze Harrison fend off the challenges of Raiddan Wilson and Kaden Michael to pick up his second Stateline victory of the season and third overall. Michael came home in second with Wilson claiming the third spot. Ricky Houser and Ken Moore, Sr. completed the top five.
RUSH Late Model competitors had the weekend off at Raceway 7, Bradford, McKean County, Genesee, Winchester, and Woodhull.
The Hovis RUSH Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series returns to action on Sunday at Bradford Speedway for a $4,000 to-win show. The event will be Race #7 of the 2025 season and is the first and only appearance of the season at the 1/4-mile track.
The weekend's Hovis RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series events begins Friday at Dog Hollow Speedway, Georgetown Speedway and Lernerville Speedway for $1,000 to-win. Saturday’s RUSH Late Model action includes The Dirt Track at Genesee, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Stateline Speedway and Woodhull Raceway. In addition to the RUSH Tour event at Bradford Speedway, the RUSH Late Models will also be in action at Eriez Speedway Sunday evening for a Weekly Series event.
Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sportsman Modified competitors have this weekend off before returning to action with the Route 7 Rumble Series at Raceway 7 and Sharon Speedway on July 18 and 19.
Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sprint Car Billy's Garage Weekly Series teams have a busy weekend that begins on Friday at Tri-City Raceway Park. In addition to the regular racing program at Tri-City, the June 13 make up feature is also on tap. The teams will also be in action on Saturday at Sharon Speedway for an $800 to- win event and then close out the weekend at Know Raceway on Sunday.
