Sibley Co Fair Night of Destruction

Lindsey Thomas, True Real Estate, the Cara Bishop Team presented The Night of Destruction at the Sibley Co Fair and fans saw an action packed event with many thrills and chills. Nick McConnell was a big double feature winner as he won the Jerry’s HQ Foods Auto Cross event holding off the stout field of 19 cars behind him. There were three different leaders in the race with Justin Krogman taking the lead straight off. As cars dropped off, the #10 Kailynn Thul made moves to join Krogman up front and took the high side to get around him. Then McConnell was in the mix after cars got bunched together. With only two laps left in the race McConnell got around Thul to win the race. Krogman took 2nd and Thul took 3rd.
McConnell also won the ever popular Truck & Trailer race by being the last truck moving with a trailer on his backside. The 10 vehicles had a free for all in the course trying to get other trailers broke off. McConnell was the last truck at the end to keep going.
The ever popular figure 8 race was won by Dan Jacobus for the 2nd consecutive year. Veteran driver Rod Manthey made several attempts to gain on him but Jacobus had the track figured out and took off straight away for the lead and remained the leader throughout the race. Manthey finished ahead of Jackson Schroeder.
The ½ car barrel races were interested to watch for their inaugural event. Cody Sievert had the best time of 25.12 seconds to win the event and pick up $300. Rylie Frauendienst took 2nd after having troubles in his first attempt at timing when he got hung up on a tire. Track crew got him off and he went back out for another timed round to take 2nd overall.
The EZ Wash & Storage Truck Cross feature saw 18 trucks start the race. Josh Compton led from start to finish to win the race. He was followed to the flag by the field behind him but some of those drivers forgot to take their last lap putting them down a lap on the course. A red flag came out on lap 3 when there was a small fire on the 2d Truck of Skylar Roehler. He was then out of the event. Cody Sievert doing triple driving duty took 2nd place and the 6t of Brandon Kuehn took 3rd place.
The Car Soccer feature was fun to watch with Team Alloy Insurance comprising of Hunter Otto and Jason Kube had the most goals to win the event. Team Goal Diggers of Adam Weckwerth and Aaron Meyer took 2nd place.
