Covington Aiming For Consistency And Wins In 2015
Covington Motorsports- GLENPOOL, Ok. (February 2, 2015) With the offseason about over, Matt Covington and the team are working toward the completion of the winter rebuild as they prepare to hit the road to Florida in the coming weeks.
The Oklahoma shoe picked up two Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour victories in 2014, which brings his total career National Tour wins to four. Covington is confident that his 2015 season might bring his best chance yet to add multiple victories and hopefully a consistent climb up the points chart to better his 2014 results.
Covington’s goal heading into 2015 is consistency and wins.
“We were not good night in and night out in 2014,” stated Matt. “This year my goal is to show up every night and have the speed and finishes this team deserves. The guys worked hard in the shop preparing this winter for the upcoming season. Because of our great sponsors and partners we have built some really nice cars over the offseason and have the equipment to run up front and showcase our speed. My focus and goal is to win more races and be as consistent as possible. I want to capitalize on the nights we draw well and start up front, and also move forward and gain as many points as possible on the nights that we have to dig from the back. If we can do that and be consistent then we will have a successful run in 2015 and better our championship points position of 8th from last year. I am looking forward to heading to Florida and getting this season going. I am pretty excited, optimistic, and ready to get back in the seat from the offseason break.”
