Covington Ready To Roll Tonight And Kick Off His Arnold Motor Supply Knoxville 360 Nationals
Covington Motorsports- Glenpool, Ok. (Aug 7, 2015) Matt Covington and crew is prepped and ready to roll for their qualifying night tonight at the famed Knoxville Raceway for the Arnold Motor Supply Knoxville 360 Nationals.
“We are very optimistic and excited to get the next couple weeks of racing underway,” stated Covington. “We left home and kicked off the trip last week with a two race stop at I-80 Speedway in Nebraska before coming to Knoxville on Saturday for a tune up. We came away from I-80 with a pair of solid top-10s. I really think we had the speed to run in the top-5, but due to circumstances and the draw, we had to settle for an 8th and 9th place finish. We decided to then load up and come down here to race last Saturday after the I-80 races to test and tune for the 360 and 410 Nationals. It didn’t go exactly as planned, as we fought power steering issues all night. We learned a little bit but were distracted by the steering most of the night and couldn’t focus on the car as much as I would of liked. Honestly though, it was a blessing in disguise because we were faced with it ahead of time and before this weekend. Pretty sure we finally figured out what it was and I am really looking forward to tonight and a successful 360 Nationals followed by what I hope to be a great 410 Nationals and successful rookie debut start for me at the famed Knoxville Nationals.”
