Pair of top-10 results for Ahumada Jr. in USMTS Amarillo Ambush

Over the weekend, Lone Star state native Carlos Ahumada Jr. joined the Summit United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas. He guided his Bear Graphix No. 65x ride to a pair of strong results in the Amarillo Ambush featuring topless Modifieds.

The 12th annual event, which brought 46 USMTS competitors to the 3/8-mile track on both Friday and Saturday, offered a $5,000 winner’s share each night.

On Friday, Ahumada qualified third in his group and finished fifth in his heat race. He went on to take the checkered flag in his B-Main and rolled off 13th in the night’s 35-lap main event. He picked up four positions in the race and registered a ninth-place result.

The next night, Ahumada took fifth in his heat and was runner-up in his B-Main. He finished 10th in the 40-lap feature after starting 15th.
