Ahumada Jr. drives to Vado podium
Carlos Ahumada Jr. raced at his home track of Vado (New Mexico) Speedway Park on Saturday and turned in his best finish of the season in the 24-car USRA Modified class.
To begin his evening at the 3/8-mile clay oval, Ahumada drove his Hacienda Mechanical Inc. No. 65x Modified from seventh to second in his heat race. He then started the 25-lap feature from the pole and led the first eight circuits. He ultimately took the checkered flag in third, finishing behind Christy Barnett and Jake Gallardo.
Austin Adams and C.J. Hursley claimed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
