Seth Standley Wins During Kids Bike Night

MARYSVILLE, Calif., Aug 2, 2025…Seth Standley picked up his first win at Marysville Raceway this season by winning the 25-lap winged 360 sprint car main event on Saturday night. It was a breeze for Standley who dominated the entire race. Chasing him was Josh Young, who had a solid night. Young started the evening by turning the fastest lap in qualifying. His lap timed in at 13.068. Jayce Steinberg delivered his best finish of the year by securing a third-place finish. It was refreshing to see a diverse and well-rounded top three. Billy Wallace and Bobby Butler banged wheels in turn two and both crashed. Neither driver continued. This accident continued a two-week streak of unfortunate events for Wallace. With Nick Larsen finishing second, Wallace now trails Larsen by eight points in the track championship with two races remaining. Larsen won the first heat. Trey Walter secured a dominant win during the second and final heat race of the night.

A total of 53 cars attended point race 13 at Marysville Raceway. Hobby Stocks led the charge with 17 entrants. The 360 sprint cars had 14 drivers. Winged Crate Sprints showcased 12 entries. The IMCA Sport Mod raced with 10 competitors. A reminder to the Sport Mods, this Aug 30th, is their final point race of the season.

A plethora of kids participated in the world-famous kid’s bike night. On behalf of the track, we want to thank all of those who participated in helping hand out the awards to the youngsters.

Caleb Ingle returned to victory lane by winning the 20-late Crate Sprint feature. Ingle was able to fend off a hard charging Misty Castleberry. Carl Droivold finished on the podium by coming home third. David Derr Jr. and KC Carpenter each had great main events and finished fourth and fifth. Heartbreak for Jacob Johnson occurred with just a handful of laps remaining. His car stopped on the track. He was pushed back to the work area, then returned to attempt to restart. The car did not respond, and he could not finish the race. He scored in the eighth finishing spot. Derek Droivold and Johnson were winners during their eight-lap heat race. Ingle now leads Johnson by just three points.

For the second time this season, Jimmy Ford drove the perfect race and won the 20-lap main event. Ford was never challenged for the top spot. Earlier this year, Jimmy unexpectedly lost his wife Tammy, his biggest fan. It was nice to see Ford get another win in her honor on Saturday night. Mark Garner moved into second spot late in the race. He was never able to mount a serious challenge for the lead and finished second. Trevor and Tommy Clymens finished third and fourth. The Clymens also won their heat races earlier in the night. Jason Clayton Jr. rounded out the top five. Mark Garner holds a six-point championship advantage heading into the final Sport Mod feature of the season on August 30th.

For the second time during the past three main events, Zach Lindgren won the 20-lap Hobby Stock main event. Lindgren was cool, calm, and comfortable up front and showing the way. Toby Merrifield was super competitive all night and finished second. Kevin Thomas once again stood on the podium with his buddies and finished third. It was a solid group of drivers up front. Ryan Smith continues to secretly have an amazing season. Tonight, he finished fourth and remains in the top five of the overall point championship standings. Willie Horn rose to the occasion and finished fifth. The weekly favorite Kyle Cheney and current point leader was sidelined with a mechanical issue. He finished 11th. Merrifield and Nick Pate each won their eight-lap heat race. Cheney still holds a comfortable 22-point edge over Merrifield with two races to go.
